Take a course in "Cost Accounting" and you will find out how to determine all & true costs.

It is really difficult to back track to find the costs after they are produced. Certainly, engineers can identify the theoretical components of costs and pretty accurately. The accountant can use their components and put costs to those numbers. That is certainly done that way very early in the process even before production. You also can look at the things entering the process and the results and then identify overall costs but you have to be careful that there are not unusual things happening that would inflate the costs. It all depends on the accuracy of the data and how normal the process was during production.
